Ofsted

St. Peter’s CofE Academy had an Ofsted inspection on 21 and 22 May 2019. I usually try and summarise the report in one or two pages, but quite honestly, I have found it impossible to do that this time, so instead, I have colour coded the wording in the report (green for areas of strength and amber for areas to develop).

We are delighted and I have analysed the bullet points in the report to illustrate how positive it really is:

For those of you who have been involved with the Academy for some time, it is also worth reflecting on how far we have come over the last four years. I have produced a table to help illustrate that:

The trust and determination of students, staff, parents and governors alike has resulted in every section improving. We even have an Outstanding grade for the work we do in Personal Development and Welfare. The only one still requiring improvement is Outcomes, but Ofsted have recognised in the report that this is ‘historical’ or a ‘legacy issue’ and that current students are making good progress. The report is available on the Ofsted website at http://reports.ofsted.gov.uk

We are very proud of our improvements, but want to assure you that no one at St. Peter’s will be allowed to become complacent and our aim is to make all of the areas Outstanding. Every day we will continue to ensure that our Christian Core Values are at the heart of everything we do and that ‘Every Life is Enriched’ at St. Peter’s CofE Academy.
