Continued improvements and impressive results for St. Peter’s CofE Academy students

50% of St. Peter’s students have gained both English and Mathematics at or above the new Grade 4 Level this year. Grade 4 is the equivalent of a ‘C’ Grade, so this represents a significant increase on our A*-C results last year. Our students have also achieved very strong EBacc qualification figures, which are expected to be amongst the highest in the City.

25 of the 30 subjects taught, either increased their 2016 A*-C pass-rate or maintained their 100% success at A*-C. Subjects which performed particularly well included English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, Sociology, Performing Arts, Health and Social Care and Child Development. Improvements were also seen in Maths, Core and Additional Science, French, Spanish, Religious Studies, Computer Science, Business Studies and ICT.

Principal, Michael Astley reflected, “Taking into consideration the changes to the grading and more challenging expectations in English and mathematics this year, I am absolutely delighted. It was important to continue the momentum of improved results last year and I am proud that the students have accomplished this, through their effort and commitment”.

“Our conscientious staff have given everything to help the students achieve these results and over the past years have developed wonderful relationships with students and their families to prepare them not only for the examinations, but the rest of their lives”.
