Boys U16 Football

St Peter's CofE Academy U16 Boys have secured a third round tie against Alleynes Academy following a 3.1 win earlier today.

The team kept it tight at the back until a mistake led to a fine finish by the Moorside forward. St Peter's then started to grow into the game and create more chances with some great passing moves and eventually were rewarded with a 25 yard screamer from Lewis Ibbs to level the game. Before the break, Oliver Sukiennicki hit the bar and we were unlucky that Lewis Ibbs was offside when he slotted home the rebound.

The second half saw both sides having chances with Sukiennicki hitting the bar for a second time and Matthew Morey pulling off some great saves to keep us in the game.

Lewis Wilkinson then stepped up and created space for himself to slot the ball home from the edge of the box to make it 2.1.

Moorside then piled on the pressure which saw the St Peter's keeper facing a penalty which was missed and 2 free kicks from the edge of the box.

St Peter's hung on though and Wilko scored another 25 yarder past the keeper to make it 3.1 and send us into the next round.

Man of the match goes to Lewis Wilkinson for his work off the ball and 2 goals. Well done!
