Creative Careers Day

A group of year 10 Fine Art students were fortunate to attend the ‘Creative Careers Day’ which Higher Horizons+ are hosting alongside our Staffordshire University’s Art and Design degree show. On Tuesday 12th June.

Staffordshire University has a well-established national reputation for Art and Design education.  They have 13 different awards in Art and Design including Graphics, Fine Art, Product Design, and Animation.  This year the week-long degree show features the work of over 300 graduating students across a range of disciplines. 

In the morning we were given a Welcome Talk, then our year 10 students took a tour around the Art and Design Degree Show, escorted by current Art students stopping at various locations where academics will interact with your students informing them about the various career pathways in a variety of disciplines including: Photography; Graphic Design and Illustration; Product and Transport Design; Fine Art; Comic Arts; 3D Design- Ceramics and Crafts; Surface Pattern and Fashion Design.     

In the afternoon, we were given the opportunity to attend short creative taster workshop run by the Fine Art staff and students.

The work we were privileged to see was of the highest standard and a great inspiration for future career choices, we a great day and the student did themselves proud, we were by far one of the best represented school on the day.
