Sentinel Shield Final

The Year 10/11 Football Team have made it to the Semi Finals of the Sentinel Shield which is a high profile football competition for all schools in Staffordshire.

The lads have played extremely well to get this far and were runners up when they played in the final at Vale Park (Port Vales ground for the non-footballers amongst you).

The Sentinel article had this to say about the St Peter’s team:

St Peter's front pairing of Amaar Khan and Josiah Chilaka were their side's best hope of redemption and twice they featured either side of half-time.

Dante Omfroy's firm shot was well parried by Painsley keeper William Dobbie in the first half, while Chilaka released Khan to nick one past the keeper in the second to leave Thomas Riley clearing off the line

Quote from the Principal,

Mr Michael Astley:

“I am really proud of the entire squad.  They can hold their heads’ high and but for a controversial refereeing decision it could have been a very different result.

I would also like to pay tribute to the many  St Peter’s Staff, students and family members that came along to support the team.”

The Team:

Cameron Parrish, Wiliam Stazaker, Joseph Furber, Callum Lovatt, Nicholas Hawkins, Jacob Cartwright, Nigel Kuvheya, Josiah Chilaka, Amaar Khan, Jake Jones, Benjamin Lawrence, Ethan Lockett, Matthew Maskery, Dante Omfroy, Jamie Shingler, Declan Wright
