Year 11 Careers Event

On the 18th October, we held a careers event for our Year 11 students in which they took a full and enthusiastic part in a day long programme of careers events, careers related activities (CV writing, and Independent Living) and completing their online applications for College through UCAS Progress. We welcomed Careers Advisors and representatives from local Colleges, Universities, Apprenticeship providers and employers who came in to speak to our students about their post 16 options.

A fantastic day was had by all, and we would like to say thank you again to everyone who took part in making the day a great success for our Year 11’s, supporting and advising them about the next steps for post-16 transition.

Here is what our students had to say:

"The event provided lots of information and guidance on different courses available to us" - Rebecca

"They (exhibitors) explained to me information about their courses and grades that I need to achieve in my GCSEs" - Judith

"The event provided a better understanding of different career choices available to us" - Aliysha

"I got to hear about different colleges that might interest me" - Chelsea

Huge congratulations go to the following students who won a £10 INTU Potteries Shopping Centre voucher for the best quiz/treasure hunt courtesy of the Careers Service: Englantina Ruci, Waqas Hussain and Tiffany Stephens
