Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to match each individual’s talents, interests and abilities; and to develop all dimensions of human potential. Students are encouraged to imagine, to question critically, to grow in maturity and wisdom to ensure they acquire the skills essential for adult life.

The curriculum is based on ability not age and creates opportunities for students to take qualifications when they are ready. A range of vocational programmes and accelerated learning options for gifted and talented students are offered, along with a strong network of support for those with specific learning needs.

Every student in the Academy has their own Individual Learning Plan, which they discuss regularly with their Tutor. These Individual Learning Plans take into account each student’s needs and targets in relation to future learning, skills, knowledge and personal development. All students are supported through high quality impartial information, advice and guidance to make the right choices.
