Our Vision and Ethos

We will aspire to provide a creative, enriching and fully inclusive education rooted within the context of a Christian ethos so that 'every life is enriched' and all are valued as 'children of God.'  'Our community will, above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.  Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling ... and use whatever gift you have received to serve others.'

1 Peter 4:8-11

‘Every Life Enriched’

At St Peter's CofE Academy we create a learning environment, curriculum, experiences and relationships in which the passion of all our students can find expression, be nourished and developed. Central to everything we do at St Peter’s CofE Academy are our Christian Core Values

  • Service – Serving God though serving others and going the extra mile.
  • Thankfulness – For Christians the greatest of all acts of worship is simply called ‘thanksgiving’ or eucharistia in Greek. Thanksgiving for the death and resurrection of God’s Son, Jesus and the way of forgiveness that is opened up.
  • Peace – Developing harmony, stability and security within our community and the wider world.
  • Empathy – Showing compassion for others and sharing in the lives of all God’s children.
  • Trust – Having faith in God and one another.
  • Endurance – Evidencing self-control and steadfastness.
  • Reverence – Honouring God through the proper response to what is holy and sacred as well as to each other.

St Peter’s CofE Academy will;

  • Develop an inclusive Academy that caters for the needs of all students, so that ‘every life is enriched.’
  • Ensure our Christian context is the driving force for the Academy's ethos, so it inspires all that the Academy does: leadership, learning, behaviour and personal development.
  • Embed a whole child approach to education so that every student is given opportunities to develop knowledge, skills and understanding through an open mind.
  • Personalise the curriculum and Academy experience for each student, responding to their learning needs by creating provision that is appropriate whether it is academic, personal, social, moral or spiritual.
  • Put the safety of our pupils and staff as a priority.
  • Encourage pupils and adults to understand the true meaning of friendship and compassion.
  • Be a community where all pupils and adults are valued, have dignity, given respect and where diversity is welcomed and celebrated.
  • Seek out every opportunity to ensure that all our pupils and adults flourish in all that they do.
  • Empower pupils and adults to develop endurance, good mental health and wellbeing so that they are able to face the challenges of school and the wider world.
  • Ensure collective worship is central at contributing towards the spiritual development of both pupils and adults.
  • Prioritise the teaching of RE so that pupils develop religious literacy and a deeper understanding of different faiths, beliefs and cultures.
  • Value the diversity of our community through embedding the FBV including a respect for democracy, law, equality, individual liberty and tolerance.
