Face Masks

Posted on: 3rd Dec 2021

Dear parents/carers

Due to an increase this week in positive covid cases in the Academy, from today (Friday 3rd December) face masks will be compulsory in all areas. This is to try to stem the spread of infection in the run up to the Christmas break and to protect vulnerable staff, students and parents. Please ensure that your child has a facemask to bring into school from tomorrow as we only have a limited stock in school. Students must ensure that their mask is fully pulled up over their nose and mouth and is well fitted around their face.

Can we also remind you of the following:

  • If you have a positive case in your household, all of the household needs to be PCR tested and students cannot come into school until the results are returned and are negative. We recommend that even if you have had  a negative PCR, that you still lateral flow test as we have seen that the virus often develops after a week following the PCR test.
  • Please encourage hand washing and the use of sanitisers.
  • If your child develops symptoms of Covid 19, please ensure that they have a PCR test immediately and stay at home until their results are received. The main symptoms are: new continuous cough, high temperature, loss of or change in sense of taste or smell.

Thank you
