Year 6 Transition

Year 6 Transition

Welcome Year 6!

Who's who?

Mr J Simpson, Head of Year

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Head of Year 7, for next year’s cohort. As a member of the St Peter’s Family, I am very excited to be given the opportunity to work with such a key year group, about whom I know and have heard great things.

To give you some brief information about myself, I have worked in schools for 28 years and have undertaken roles including Head of Design and a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Having worked on both the academic and pastoral sides of education, I am looking forward to combining these as Head of Year 7.

The year ahead will be probably the most important of your child’s academic career so far, and I see my role as supporting them at this crucial time to achieve their very best, in close collaboration with their ROCK tutors, teaching staff and with you as parents/carers.

If I can be of any assistance please don’t hesitate to contact me. I assure you of my full commitment to ensure the best outcomes of your child.

Mrs K O'Connor, Transition Co-ordinator

Hello! My name is Mrs O'Connor and I am the Transition Co-ordinator here at St Peter's CofE Academy. Along with Mr Simpson, Head of Year 7, Mrs Lawton, Family Liaison and Student Development Officer and your Form Tutor, I am responsible for ensuring that you have the smoothest transition possible from Primary to High School. I will be working very closely with your current Teacher(s) to find out all about you and how we can best help you to settle in.

Mr M Astley, Principal

Everyone at St Peter’s, the staff, the students and even Rocky the dog cannot wait to see you all in your uniform, looking all grown up and ready for the next chapter of your school life.

We have 7 core values at St Peter’s, Service, Thankfulness, Peace, Empathy, Trust, Endurance and Reverence.  These will give you the best possible start to your time at St Peter’s and help you go on to be whatever you want to be in the future.

We are keen that you have a smooth transition and hit the ground running when you start in September, so look out for all of our transition events and feel free to contact us via one of the following if you want to discuss anything.
