Message from the Principal

Posted on: 29th Sep 2019

On Friday, we welcomed local MP Jack Brereton as he hosted a careers fayre at St Peter's CofE Academy. We were also joined by students from Ormiston Meridian, Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews and St Thomas More. Students got the opportunity to engage with local employers and businesses in a range of STEM subjects including: KMF, Hallmark Sheet Metal Company, Cottage Delight, Goodwin International, Wardell Armstrong, Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and North Staffs Engineering Group.

After a few words from myself and Jack Brereton, students received a talk from each employer and gained valuable insight into possible careers and pathways in STEM subjects (along with the added bonus of a free pen or two along the way!). We are always looking to engage with local employers and give our students an insight into the world of work through their careers education and this was an excellent example of this.

I would like to thank Miss Spencer, Miss Edwards and Mrs James for their contributions on the day and give a special mention to Mr Price and Mrs Fox for their excellent organisational skills leading up to the event.
