Mr astley photoIf things were normal, the whole school would have made the annual trip to Stoke Minister or the Church of St. Peter ad Vincula last Friday. We would have been welcomed by our Chair of Governors, The Revd Canon Andrew Wickens, and celebrated The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul together as a family.

The actual day for The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is on Monday 30 June and Mr Forrest has kindly put something together explaining who St. Peter was and also why we call our registration period Rock and Academy dog, Rocky! It is interesting and significant that Peter was not perfect and had his failings, but his faith helped him overcome these.

“Peter, one of the 12 disciples of Jesus, was one of the founding fathers of the early Christian church. Peter, along with his brother Andrew, were fishermen. They were called to be disciples by Jesus and spent three years listening to the teachings of Jesus before teaching others about the Christian message of salvation. The name Peter means "rock" and despite his many failings during his lifetime, Peter's foundation was firmly built upon Christ and as we live through difficult days we can find comfort that a firm faith in Christ will get us through each difficulty and each day.”

Take Care and God Bless,
